Every week, the activities at winter camp are different to keep things interesting for kids who are doing multiple weeks. In-class lessons are usually kept structurally the same but with changing topics every day. At some points during camp, we would ask the students to write a journal of their day/week at camp. Here is the feedback from some students.\
“My teacher, Li laoshi, took me to a very cool restaurant that I don’t know the name of. I had beef, duck, seaweed, tofu, and noodles. She is a very fun teacher and I’m happy my parents took me to the park. Wǒ ài shuìjiào hé lā xiǎotíqín. Wǒ ài bàba hé māmā.
Yesterday, we went to eat at a buffet like restaurant. We got beef and some other meat. It was good. We had been there once before and it was just as good.”
“Yesterday I went to the park with the students my age. We played many games such as tug-of-war, jump rope and hide-and-seek! After we left, we got ice cream! On the way back to camp, we passed a lot of interesting stuff! It was very fun! Wǒ xǐhuān fēngmì hé húdié.”
“My teachers took me to Jing’an Park where we played tug-of-war and hide-and-seek. At the park, we played tug-of-war and hackey sack. It was really fun. We stayed there for about 2 hours and after we left, I bought 2 cones of ice cream.”
“I liked biking with Bobo laoshi. I biked with small Ofo bike and Bobo laoshi biked with the new Mobike. We biked for a long time. We biked on a less busy road.”
